Sizing for the Mizuno Wave Revolver 2
I recently purchased my first pair of running flats. Because most of the local Chicago running stores were low on inventory, I chose to order them on-line. The two models that I was interested in were the Asics Magic Racer DS and the Mizuno Wave Revolver 2. I chose the Revolver because I have been happily training and racing in Wave Creations for just over a year and the reviews of the Revolver best fit with my desire to have a fairly flexible shoe with some cushioning to help get me through a marathon.
I wear a 9 in the Wave Creations, so I chose a 9 in the Revolvers. This is contrary to the advice provided by Road Runner Sports who suggests to order a half size larger than your normal street shoes. Since this sizing recommendation is not provided on the Wave Creations page, I assume they mean a half size larger than I wear in the Creations. However, I have found the size 9 in the Revolvers to be much more roomy than my Creations. A 9.5 in the Revolvers would be much too big for my feet. Just an FYI about my sizing experience with the Revolvers.
Lastly, I have run one race in the Revolvers, PRing in the Chicago Half Marathon by nearly four minutes from a previous PR set in early August. Those Revolvers are fast :) And they were comfortable too. Looking forward to a good Chicago Marathon in them.
